GBIF Asia Regional Nodes Meeting 2026
Goal
Nodes within the region meet every second year to learn from each other, exchange experiences, discuss ideas, develop good practices, share common challenges, define regional recommendations and set priorities for collaboration and engagement within GBIF. The goals for this year’s regional meeting are to:

Strengthen the Asia GBIF community

Provide a forum for GBIF nodes in Asia and the GBIF Secretariat to share latest updates and best practices

Explore opportunities for synergies between existing and/or upcoming related regional initiatives and the GBIF network, e.g., through support of, or participation in any related training efforts; encouraging data sharing through other related regional programmes; identifying possible data flows that could encourage use of the data being mobilized through GBIF, etc.

Showcase the relevance of GBIF data across a broad range of use cases.
Participants
Participants include GBIF node managers and members of regional node support teams, creating a space for practical exchange between those directly involved in coordinating and supporting GBIF activities in the region. Observers may also be invited where relevant, with participation supported through a combination of GBIF funding, self-funded attendance and in-kind support from meeting hosts and regional partners.
